While the original Bomblet leans dark, vintage, and ultra-smooth, the 023 MALFA injects just the right amount of top-end excitement. By introducing a subtle 6–7kHz presence boost, an extended "air" curve above 15kHz, and slightly leaner low-mids, this mic allows lead vocals, acoustic instruments, and overheads to sit forward in a dense arrangement without requiring heavy-handed EQ. Crucially, because it still utilizes Soyuz’s custom toroidal transformer and hand-sputtered 33mm capsule, it delivers that modern clarity without a hint of the harsh, sibilant "bite" common in cheaper condenser mics.
