Channel raw, depression-era blues grit with modern Collings craftsmanship in the Waterloo WL-14X TR! Designed as a tribute to the legendary mail-order acoustic guitars of the 1930s, this parlor-style box pairs a solid spruce top with solid mahogany back and sides under a semi-gloss nitrocellulose Vintage-style Sunburst finish. Featuring Waterloo's custom X-bracing pattern and an adjustable truss rod, it yields a warm, woody acoustic voice with focused low-end clarity and exceptional dynamic response. The solid mahogany neck is carved to a prominent, vintage-inspired strong V shape, topped with an Indian rosewood fingerboard, a wide 1 3/4" ebony nut, and a slinky 24 7/8" scale length. Complete with ivoroid binding, a tigerstripe celluloid pickguard, an ebony bridge with a cut-through bone saddle, Golden Age Restoration tuners, and a stenciled headstock logo, this WL-14X is an absolute dream for fingerstyle ragtime and Delta blues players.

From Collings Guitars

The WL-14 is the flagship model of the Waterloo guitar line and the inspiration that started it all. Keeping true to the design and style of the era, the WL-14 is available in "ladder" bracing (L) as well as "X" bracing (X). The ladder bracing option provides woody and open tone, with midrange honk that's perfect for fingerstyle blues. The "X" braced version retains tighter focus and balance across the tonal range.

There are currently two different neck profiles and two neck support options available for the WL-14. The standard neck profile is a sizable, vintage-inspired neck with a prominent "V" shape. For those who prefer more moderately sized necks, an alternate lower-profile option is available by request. For neck support, choose from either a T-bar for ultra-lightweight rigidity or an adjustable truss rod for greater setup flexibility. Hardshell TKL case included.
